How to dress in different types of silhouette

On dressing different types of silhouette, we should know what type of body we have. Knowing the type of your body is like having a canvas. You cannot paint without a canvass as well as you cannot style yourself without first knowing your body type.
  • Bean Pole- You are thin and does have a narrow shoulders and hips. This is almost similar to pencil body type.
  • Waif-   This is the best body type which is the most acceptable in the modeling industry. They have the towering height, long legs and skinny body. Most of the ladies out there love this body type.
  • Top Heavy- This body type accentuates the upper portion of the body especially in the bust area. Women who have this body shape has a fuller bosom which gives her an illusion of a slimmer waist.
  • Pear shaped- If top heavy emphasizes the upper part of the body, pear shaped accentuates the bottom part of the body. It is derived from the fruit, pear which is obviously bigger on the bottom. Their hip is exaggeratedly big.
  • Masculine- Women who falls on this type of body are women who have a broad shoulders. Some say that it is associated with the sporty women who have muscular legs and arms. Their waist and hip size has almost the same size.
  • Belle of the Bottoms- Booty is their main asset. They have a sexy booties paired with a tight leg. Beyonce and JLO is the best example.
  • Curvy- Some men just love curvy women. They are the women who have a full body. Big breast, small waist and full hips. They have their natural curve so what can we ask for?
  • Tall-This body type is for the beauty queens. They are not as skinny as the models are and definitely not as big as the plus size. This is for me the sexiest body type.
  • Petite- Small ladies fall on this type. They are the one who is thin and small. The cutest body type for me.
Now, you already know your body type so here are some tips on how to style and emphasize your asset or de-emphasize your imperfections.
  • A tiny waist- Choose low slung skirts/ pants. Knot shirts at the waist. Cropped tops are not just for Britney but they are for moments of extreme confidence and reckless abandon, aka holidays and special occasions.
  • Ample cleavage- Wear necklaces to draw the eye down. Open- necked shirts. Strappy tops are great so you don’t look bound in or constricted but only opt for spaghetti option if you have enough support elsewhere.
  • Enhanced cleavage- Pick V-neck jumpers, or again dangling necklaces that draw the eye down. Padded uplift bras are a given.
  • Broad shoulders- Go easy on the shoulder pads, favor cardigans and soft open tops, or structured tailoring.
  • Chunky thighs- Wear loose plazzo pants. Flowing skirts.
  • Chicken arms- Cover shoulders, wear shawls, pashminas or chiffon capped sleeves.
  • Long legs- Lucky you. Wear minis- why hide them?
  • A shapely derriere (butt)- You need to show it off. Pencil Skirts.
  • Big tummy- Wear baggy shirts over trousers, empire-line, dresses, suit jackets and nothing too fitted at the waist.
  • Big hips- Again you can conceal with loose baggy tops, flowing feminine skirts and highlighting another area.
  • Oversized proportions- Remember that big is beautiful. To streamline and slenderise, head-to-toe black works.
However, let’s face the fact that there are some clothes that is really unflattering. So here’s the list of clothes you have to be aware of:
  • Horizontal stripes
  • White jeans
  • Flannel Tracksuits
  • White tights
  • Blue lipstick
  • Wellington boots
  • Dungarees
If you find yourselves cute wearing these, good for you. This applies to most women. :)
